REST POLICY Any child who is in our school for more than 4 hours is required by DYFS to have a rest period. Therefore, if your child is enrolled in any of our all day classes, he/she will rest for a minimum of 30 minutes. Kindergarten children are not required to rest; however, they will also have a quiet time during the day. A fee for a mat (which you may keep) is part of your registration fee (for the nursery school) when you enroll in our school for the first time. Parents are required to provide a sheet and blanket. A crib sheet is the best size for the mat. We will be placing these items (along with the mat) in a labeled plastic bag which we will send home periodically to be cleaned. Please return them the next school day. There is no fee for a mat for Kindergarten children. However, we request that a labeled towel be provided and left at school for the full day Kindergarten. This will also be sent home on a periodic basis to be cleaned. |

PARENT PARTICIPATION 1. All communication with parents is done through notices sent home in a folder in your child’s backpack. Please be sure to check these every day! This folder will be provided by the school. We will also notify you through email. 2. The teachers will be sending home a newsletter once a month providing information about upcoming events and curriculum. 3. The Early Childhood Learning Center has 2 conferences per year for 3 – 5 year olds and 1 conference for the 2 ½ year olds. We will be discussing the growth and development of your child at this time. THERE WILL BE NO CLASSES ON CONFERENCE DAYS OR EXTENDED HOURS. FULL DAY KINDERGARTEN WILL BE DISMISSED AT 12:00 NOON. (Please check your calendars.) Babysitting will be provided during conference time only. Additional conferences may be scheduled on an individual basis as desired by the parent, teacher or director. 4. An Open School Night will be scheduled in the beginning of the school year. The teachers will discuss the curriculum and their goals at this time. THIS IS NOT A TIME FOR INDIVIDUAL CONFERENCES. 5. Parents will be invited for special events during the school year. Some will be listed on your calendars. You will be notified of all events as they are added to the calendar throughout the year. We will be having an end of the year program for all age groups. These will also be listed on your calendar. 6. We have an open door policy. However, we request that parents do not drop in to discuss issues while children are present. We encourage you to schedule an appointment to discuss any concerns that you may have. Please feel free to call the Director at all times. Please respect our teachers and Director by calling during the school day and not at home. All phone calls will be returned within 24 hours on school days. |

FUNDRAISING Various fundraising events are held throughout the school year. We encourage you to support and participate in them. These fundraisers assist us in purchasing computers, computer materials, and special equipment for our school. Examples of fundraising that we have had in the past and continue to have are: - As a service to our parents, we offer a delivery of challah on Fridays. A notice will be sent home for pre-paid orders. The challah will be placed in your child’s backpack.
- A Character Breakfast or Carnival is held once a year. Parent participation is extremely important for this event. The date will be listed on your calendar. Advanced ticket purchase is required.
