CURRICULUM

We are a developmental school with the primary goal of offering your child an opportunity to progress at his/her own stage of growth. Each child’s ability is taken into consideration when planning a day’s lesson. We provide a variety of activities that encourage independence, self-confidence and self-reliance. Our projects allow children to experiment and explore many different materials and experiences.

STAFFING

The Director, Marsha Lichtman, is an active member in the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the Middlesex County Directors Association. Mrs. Lichtman has a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She began in 1979 as a teacher and became Director in 1985.  We have a very low turnover of staff. The average teacher has been with us a minimum of 10 years.

Education

All of our teachers are licensed. The entire staff  participates  in a continuous program of in-service education and studies for professional advancement. We do this to remain alert to the ever changing needs of today’s families and to the findings of current research.

HISTORY

The Early Childhood Learning Center began in 1979 with just three classes and has been growing ever since. Through the years we have instituted such programs as extended hours, Jewish Experience and Kindergarten Enrichment along with a Full Day Kindergarten, 2, 3, 4 and 5 day nursery school classes (mornings or all day) in order to meet the needs of the community.

While our school is a Jewish oriented school, we are open to all children regardless of race, religion or nationality, who may benefit from our type of program. We have now become a truly multi-cultural school with children from all backgrounds.
